Terms of Use

Last updated October 2, 2026

These terms cover the TTC Status iPhone app, the website at ttc-status.com, and our server ("the service"). By using the service you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

What TTC Status is

TTC Status shows the service condition of TTC subway and LRT lines and stations, built from the TTC's public alerts on ttc.ca. It's an independent app and isn't affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by the Toronto Transit Commission. "TTC" is used only to describe the transit system the app covers.

Information can be wrong or late

We pass on what the TTC publishes, and that can be incomplete, delayed or wrong. A station shown as Normal may still be disrupted, and a reopening time is an estimate. Notifications can be late or not arrive at all. Don't rely on TTC Status for anything where being late or missing a trip would cause harm. Always check official TTC sources and station announcements.

Accounts

You can use TTC Status without an account. If you sign in with Apple or Google, you're responsible for that account. You can delete your TTC Status account in the app at any time.

Premium

Premium is an auto-renewing subscription sold through the App Store. Apple handles payment, renewal, cancellation and refunds under its own terms. Manage or cancel it in your Apple ID settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Premium stays on until the end of the period you paid for. Features listed for Premium may change over time. If we remove one you paid for, we'll tell you in the app.

Acceptable use

Our content

The app, the website, the Jay Train mascot and the design are ours. TTC alert text belongs to the TTC. You may not copy or redistribute the app except as the App Store allows.

No warranty

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We may change, pause or stop any part of it.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses caused by wrong, late or missing service information, such as a missed trip or being late. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid for Premium in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer protection law that can't be waived.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.

Changes

We may update these terms. We'll change the date above, and for a significant change we'll tell you in the app at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you keep using the service after that, you accept the new terms.
